Upon arrival in Helsinki, you will be met and
transferred to your
hotel. Balance of the day at leisure.
DAY 3/
HELSINKI
/ FERRY
This morning, see the Neo-Classical Senate Square
with
Engel's
Cathedral and its domes soaring above, Market Square
with its colorful
open-air market, and Temppeliaukio Rock Church, which is
carved out
of solid rock and topped with a copper dome. This
afternoon is free
to explore on your own or for shopping. Late afternoon
transfer to the
pier to board the ship bound for Stockholm.

4/
STOCKHOLM
This morning, tour Sweden's capital, situated on
fourteen islands.
Visit the famous City Hall, stroll through the Old
Town with its
cobblestone streets and medieval buildings and the
13th Century
Cathedral and walk past the Royal Palace and the Stock
Exchange before
going to the Southern Island to enjoy a splendid view
over the city and
the harbor.

5/
STOCKHOLM
Today, travel through the suburbs of Stockholm along
the shores of
Lake Malaren to the Royal Palace of Drottningholm, the
present
residence of the Royal Family. See the well-known
Skansen Open-Air
Museum, depicting life in different parts of Sweden
throughout the
centuries.
DAY 6/
STOCKHOLM / KARLSTAD
Travel along the shores of Lake Malaren to the
picturesque old town of
Mariefred, dominated by the hill-top 17th century
church. In the old
town below, wooden houses line narrow lanes down to the
lake. Enroute,
visit the old and historic Gripsholm Castle. Continue
along the shores
of Lake Vaenern, Sweden's largest lake, to Karlstad.
DAY
7/
KARLSTAD/ SANDERSTOELEN
Today, cross the Swedish-Norwegian border to the old
town of
Kongsvinger with its ancient fortress. Proceed to
Eidsvoll, on the
south end of Lake Mjoesa, where the Norwegian
constitution was framed
in 1814 marking emancipation from Danish rule.
Continue along the
shores of Lake Mjoesa, Norway's largest lake, to the
town of Gjoevik
and past the village of Dokka. Finally, continue
through the
countryside to the resort center of Sanderstoelen.
DAY 8/
SANDERSTOELEN / FLAAM / LOFTHUS
Drive to Gol to board the famous railway to the tiny
fjord village
of Flaam. Sail by modern fjordferry to the Aurlands and
Naeroy Fjords
passing cascading waterfalls, isolated hamlets, and
steep mountain
sides.
Disembark at Gudvangen and drive through the Naeroydal
Valley. Ascend
the hairpin-curves of Stalheim Canyon Road passing
Tvindefossen
Waterfall
to the resort town of Voss. Continue past the
Skjervefossen Waterfall
and the village of Granvin to Bruravik. Sail by ferry
across the Eid
fjord to Brimnes then travel via Kinsarvik to the fjord
village of
Lofhus, located on the eastern shore of the Sor Fjord, a
branch of the
Hardanger Fjord.
DAY
9/
LOFTHUS
Today we will take a
spectacular drive
along the shore of the Hardangerfjord to Bergen,
Norway's second
largest city. Sightseeing will include the medieval
Viking hall and
other ancient wooden buildings on the waterfront known
as the Bryggen
DAY
10/
LOFTHUS / OSLO
Leave Lofthus in the morning. Drive to see the
Latefoss Waterfall
tumbling down the mountainside in a double avalanche
and gently
spraying the road. Continue to Heddal to visit the
12th century Stave
Church, Norway's largest, before proceeding along the
Oslo Fjord to
Oslo, Norway's capital.
DAY
11/
OSLO
Tour Oslo, the oldest capital of the north and
Norway¹s most
important maritime city. Visit the preserved Viking
Long Ships, Frogner
Park with 150 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, and the
Kon Tiki Raft.
This afternoon is free for exploring on your own or
for last minute
shopping. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner.
DAY 12/
OSLO /
USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight
home, bringing with you treasured memories of your
fantastic tour.
